The listing

1965 Johnson 6HP Outboard (Model CD-22M) - Single Family Survivor with Original Papers Need a classic outboard for fishing or summer boating fun? Or perhaps you are a collector or rare marine memorabilia? If so, you need this 1965 6HP Johnson Seahorse short-shaft outboard motor! This motor has been in the same family since it was purchased new in 1965 and comes with the original owners manual and warranty registration card. It is in great condition and has always been very reliable. Motor has been run only in fresh water. This 1965 Johnson 6 hp Seahorse outboard motor (Model CD-22M) was purchased brand new on May 1, 1965, from Sportland in Moorhead, Minnesota. It has remained in our family for 61 years. • History: Stored indoors. It was mechanically serviced in April 2012 (compression check, flywheel pulled, adjusted and cleaned, carb cleaned, shift check and adjust, tank test). It ran well, and was placed back into storage. • Documentation Included: Comes with the incredibly rare, original Owner’s Warranty Registration Card from 1965 showing the original purchase date and dealership, alongside the original factory Owner's Manual. • Condition: Excellent cosmetic shape for its age. Completely original paint and decals. The motor has always been very reliable, usually starting in just a few pulls. Because it has been sitting in storage, it will likely need a basic carburetor clean and a new water pump impeller before taking it to the lake. Perfect collector piece for a vintage boat restoration or an antique outboard enthusiast. Price: $450 cash. Local pickup only.
