Bang and Olufsen Beogram 5500 turntable - no cartridge
The listing
Beogram 5500 Turntable - powers on, platter spins, tonearm tracks - NO CARTRIDGE Part of Bang & Olufsen's Beosystem 5500 line from the late 80's, designed by Jacob Jensen. What Works: - Platter spins smoothly at power on and when a record is on the platter - Tangential tonearm moves and tracks across the record surface as designed - Automatic tonearm mechanism appears to engage properly What cannot be tested: - Audio output **I was able to get faint audio output with an extremely worn down stylus MMC2 cartrige(not included)** This tangential tracking turntable was engineered by B&O to play records at the same angle as the original matering cut, minimizing tracking error. Features automatic record size and speed detection (33/45), a low force tracking design intended to protect vinyl, and B&Os signature aluminum and glass construction. Connects via B&O's proprietary 7-pin DIN connector. I will include the original owner's DIN->RCA cable, unknown functionality. Condition: Very good - small knicks to top aluminum, micro abrasions on the acrylic, see photos. Sold as-is, as described. The photos are part of the description.
