Wukoki Ruin (Framed) 1994 by Rick Preston, Fine Art Photographer

The listing

Fine art photographer Rick Preston doesn't look to other photographers for inspiration. Instead, he finds his muse in the paintings of Georgia O'Keeffe. "I have always been awed by the way Georgia O'Keeffe was able to capture the essence of a place with her paintings," writes Preston. 'If I can do that with a photograph, I consider it successful." Almost all of Preston's work strives to capture this elusive sense of place. A self-taught photographer, Preston allows that his technique is "as straightforward as you can get," confiding that his purpose is not to manipulate his medium, to alter the photograph, but to translate into a visual image his site perceptions gleaned from all the senses. Wukoki Ruin is an image shot by Preston in 1994. This stunning art work is only appreciated when seen in person. The motion captured in the clouds above the ruin is magnificent. The image is framed and matted and ready to hang on your wall.
