100-Year-Old Dixie Furniture Brand Mahogany & Walnut Wood End Table

For sale is an end table that is intended to be used in a living room and placed to the side of a sofa. It can also be used as a nightstand, sitting next to a bed. Of course, it can also be used in other settings and for other purposes. The table is a Dixie Furniture brand. Dixie was a medium-sized furniture company, founded in Lexington, North Carolina in 1901. This particular table was likely manufactured at the Lexington location in the mid-1920s. It's about 100 years old. The table is an American traditional style of furniture ((sometimes called the American Federal style of furniture) with lots of simple straight lines for the legs, table platform, lower shelf, and the drawer. The only element that is not straight is the drawer handle, which is oval. Nearly all visible portions of the table are constructed of solid Mahogany wood or Walnut Wood. This is Mahogany and Walnut wood, through and through. This is not just wood veneer over MDF. Some portions of the table, which are normally not visible, including the drawer sides, back and bottom, are constructed of solid oak wood. This is all high-end construction. For example, the table drawer is constructed with dovetail joints. Due to the generous use of solid Mahogany wood, this is a very solid table, weighing about 15 pounds. The entire unit measures about 27.5" tall, 16" wide, and 12.75" deep. The top surface is rectangular-shaped and measures 16" wide and 12.75" deep. The tabletop sits 27.5" off of the ground. There is one (1) drawer at the top, which pulls out on wooden sliders. The front of the drawer has an oval-shaped bronze handle. The interior space of the drawer measures 12" wide, 10" deep, and 2" tall. Below this drawer is an open space with a single shelf. The interior space of this shelf measures about 14.75" wide and 11.75" deep. This shelf sits 8" off of the ground. And there is 7.5" of open space beneath this shelf. The table is in excellent condition, especially considering it is about 100 years old. Structurally, it's in incredibly robust condition, with no wood bending, warping, or fatigue. The drawer slides out with ease. Everything is solid. Cosmetically, everything is also in excellent condition. There are no significant scratches, dents, dings, or smudges or any exterior surface. There are some very tiny surface scratches, but these are not particularly noticeable. And there are a few water-stains on the top surface, where the lacquer finish is wearing thin. These cosmetic issues don't harm the structural integrity of the table. You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport. You can easily fit this into a standard sized passenger car. Or I would be happy to deliver it to you, if I happen to travel out in your direction. I prefer that you reach out via text message. Sending an initial email message is OK.
