Black Lacquer Chinoiserie Cabinet with Hand-Carved Red Door

The listing

This vintage Chinese black lacquer cabinet has a hand-carved door panel in red and gold showing two figures in a garden scene. Gold hand-painted chinoiserie decoration covers every surface: a flowering branch with a butterfly across the top, a river landscape on the long bottom drawer, and scrolling patterns on the four side drawers and the apron. It has original brass hinges and hardware. It measures 30" wide, 11" deep, and 32" tall. That slim depth makes it a great fit for an entryway, hallway, or dining space, and it also works well as a bar cabinet. It's sturdy with no wobble, and the door and all five drawers open smoothly. It's been cleaned and is ready to use. For honesty, there's a very faint ring on the top (no swelling or cracking), and the carved panel has a natural vertical seam split, which is typical of these hand-carved pieces and part of its character.
