2000 Layton by Skyline Trailer Perfect for ADU or Tiny Home Living We bought this trailer back in 2017, and, now that our house is built, we are ready to sell. It is a great trailer that has been “renovated” to allow for more space for living. We tore out the RV couch and table configuration so that when we were living inside we could have a couch, dressers, and a TV stand. It makes for a much more spacious living arrangement. We will even throw in a small couch and coffee table for you! I have modified the bedroom so a real queen bed (not the smaller RV queen) can fit. Overall, I would say this trailer is in good condition and ready for someone to live in. My wife and I lived in this unit for 6 years and were comfortable. Clean title in hand and registration has been kept up to date even though the trailer has been sitting for 9 years. Things that work: heater, stove, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, CD radio with speakers, toilet, etc. (toilet is actually only 2 years old). I spent 5-6 hours working on the a/c and determined that the compressor is blown and about 800 bucks to fix it unless you could find one used at a junkyard. We always had it in the shade so was never a problem. The plastic a/c unit cover on top is also smashed from a tree. We will make a cover for it when it is time to transport, but, as of now, that area is inaccessible until we remove the structure covering it. Another issue is that during the ice storm of 2020, a tree fell and damaged the front top corner or the trailer. It even collapsed part of the inside ceiling in the bedroom. The actual fix wouldn’t be too hard for a person who is fairly handy, however, we chose not to fix it because, as of now, the roof is still completely leak proof and I just didn’t want to mess with it. I ran water hoses on the dented roof for hours, and never once did a leak show itself. There is also a small wall near the slide-out that has dry-rot about 2 feet up (where my finger is pointing in the picture). This section was like this when we bought it, we caulked the corner, and the dry-rot hasn’t spread, so, the leak that caused it appears to have been fixed. I spent all day shampooing the carpets really well….. twice, so, they are clean, but have staining from years of use. Most of the time we had carpets and runners along the floor anyways. If you are needing a dry, warm, place to live, with working appliances, this is the trailer for you. My wife and I were comfortable when we lived in it, and it is move in ready. Would highly recommend storing under some sort of awning or carport. Can help haul and transport within reason, probably like 10-20 miles , for a small fee.
