NEW TO ONLINE AUCTIONS? Whether you bid with us or someone else, there are a few things every bidder should know before getting started. First, review the buyer's premium. This is an additional percentage added to your winning bid and becomes part of your final purchase price. Most importantly, KNOW THE PICKUP REQUIREMENTS before bidding. Make sure you can attend the scheduled pickup and have the help you need. Shipping is available on qualifying items. We can SOMETIMES make special pickup arrangements for an additional fee, but this must be worked out BEFORE auction pickup begins. If you have questions, call us before you bid. We're happy to help. Know what a max bid is. Enter the highest amount you're willing to pay and HiBid will bid incrementally on your behalf as needed. You do NOT automatically pay your maximum. Finally, understand the closing process. Lots close in order rather than all at once. We use a "soft close," meaning if someone bids during the final two minutes, that lot remains open for another two minutes to allow a counterbid. NEW RUGS, MCM FURNITURE, VINTAGE JEWELRY & VINTAGE FINDS Let's start with the rugs, because there are A LOT of them. The owners of this estate were rug dealers, and this auction includes a substantial inventory of BRAND-NEW, UNUSED RUGS. These aren't rugs pulled off the floors of the house. This is former dealer inventory that has never been used. Look for area rugs in multiple sizes, colors and patterns, along with smaller accent and novelty rugs. But this is definitely NOT just a rug auction. MID-CENTURY MODERN & VINTAGE FURNITURE One of the stars is a HUGE Mid-Century Modern shelving unit custom made in Dallas during the 1950s. Furniture buyers should also look for a beautiful vintage French Provincial-style settee, vintage tables, chairs, shelving and additional estate furniture. VINTAGE JEWELRY & ACCESSORIES There is a great assortment of vintage jewelry, including sterling silver, James Avery, Brighton, natural stones and other interesting pieces. You'll also find vintage hats, handbags, boots, clothing and accessories, plus grouped clothing lots with reseller potential. VINTAGE LIGHTING & HOME DECOR There is some seriously good vintage lighting in this house. Look for antique and vintage lamps, alabaster lamps, brass and glass lighting and other statement pieces. Also scattered throughout the auction are vintage copper pieces, silverplate, crystal, china, English teacups and saucers, an antique flower frog, vintage buttons, a brass hand mirror, green glass cake stand and plenty of decorative smalls. BOOKS & ART Book lovers should dig into the large collection, especially the vintage art books and gardening titles. There's also a large Ansel Adams poster, art supplies and other art and decorative pieces. VINTAGE TECH & FUN FINDS A 1940s/1950s Hamilton Beach milkshake malt mixer is one of those fantastic pieces you simply don't see every day. Also look for a vintage electric typewriter, vintage electronics, an Apple MacBook Pro, 32-inch TV and a working robot vacuum. PRACTICAL STUFF TOO There's a bottom-freezer refrigerator, heavy-duty dryer, clothing, household goods, kitchenware, storage, furniture and more. This is a true estate auction where you can jump from brand-new rug inventory to 1950s furniture, vintage jewelry, antique lighting, appliances and wonderfully random little treasures in a matter of a few lots. Take your time going through the ENTIRE catalog. There are plenty of sleepers tucked between the obvious highlights.
