Vintage 2-Bulb Rotating Emergency Beacon GE 12V Red Dome Untested
The listing
Vintage two-bulb rotating emergency signal light/beacon with red dome, metal housing, internal reflector, and geared rotating mechanism. The unit measures approximately 10 inches in diameter and 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 9 pounds before packing. It has a heavy metal base, red dome, internal reflector, two lamp sockets, and a geared motor/mechanism. A warning label inside states: “Do not try to turn lamps manually as this will strip the gear.” This appears to be a vintage emergency-vehicle, fire-apparatus, industrial, or warning beacon. The exact manufacturer and model are not marked or identified. It may resemble vintage Mars Signal Light units, but no Mars nameplate or serial plate is present, so no specific maker is being guaranteed. Includes two GE bulbs marked 12V. The bulbs and rotating motor are untested. The required operating current and complete-unit voltage have not been independently verified. The metal housing has age-related wear, oxidation, scratches, dust, and finish loss. The red dome has visible surface scratches and wear. The original-style cloth-covered wiring is aged, and the cord end should not be treated as modern plug-and-use wiring. Do not connect it to household 120V power. Do not manually force or rotate the lamp assembly, as the internal warning label states that this can strip the gear. Sold strictly as-is for restoration, parts, display, emergency-light collecting, fire-apparatus collecting, railroad, or industrial décor. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are part of the description. Can be picked up in Cary or DeKale
