Specialized Turbo Tero X 4 (Medium frame) - lightly used
The listing
This is the Land Rover Defender of e-bikes: capable on mountain biking trails, yet featured-up enough to be a great commute or recreation bike on city streets. The 12-speed drivetrain and super-customizable pedal assist give you the ability to conquer any hill on any terrain. Full suspension, dropper seat post, front and rear lights powered by the removable main battery, fenders, racks, hydraulic disc brakes, wide but not fat 27.5 inch tires. The onboard computer provides lots of display options, and can be linked to your phone with the Specialized app for even more customization and ride tracking/posting. I bought this after relocating from Massachusetts, with aspirations of riding MTB trails here in California. After a few rides, I discovered that I really wasn't enjoying the single-track riding out here - much more technical and rocky than what I was used to (plus I've aged up a bit...). And I'm finding this is just way more bike than I need for riding around town. The bike is in excellent condition, practically new, with less than 300 miles and only 5 charges. Everything works as it should. I added a Specialized front rack which is easily removed (I have the original cover plate where it mounts if you do decide to take it off). I rode a Haibike e-hardtail with the Bosch drive system, and I've gotta say the Specialized mid-drive is soooo much better: smoother power delivery in what seems like an infinitely controllable amount depending on your need and preference. Here's what Specialized says about the bike: The Specialized Turbo Tero X 4.0 inspires adventure, supports exploration, and encourages pushing limits through a versatile full-suspension, mixed wheel-size E-Bike platform that supports rides intended to crush bike trails, paved city streets, and beyond. Centered around the versatility and performance of Specialized's Full Power 2.0 Motor and Turbo Operating system, Turbo Tero X delivers adaptive control that can handle rugged terrain under the harshest conditions. Status display and control of the onboard pedal-assist system is available through the MasterMind display, which pairs seamlessly with Specialized's App, allowing users to further tune their bike's performance properties as well as enable security settings, including motor disable and motion sensor alarm with Turbo System lock. Turbo Tero X smooths out the roughest of roads and trails through an ultra-light E5 aluminum frame, built to support 120mm of rear travel and 130mm of front travel, unlocking ride-it-all capability. Optimal ride control is furnished on M-XL sizes by a mixed wheel size "mullet" setup, situating a 27.5" tire in the rear for acceleration and a 29" in the front for elevated handling. A confidence-boosting Tranz X infinitely adjustable dropper seatpost helps riders achieve better bike control in more situations. DRYTECH full-wrap stainless steel fenders keep you covered when weather turns rainy, and pannier-style racks dutifully carry up to 20kg of rear cargo and 10kg of front cargo. Whatever your favorite route home might be, Turbo Tero X is prepared to be by your side whether you take a shortcut or the long way.
