1950s Mid-Century-Modern Glasbake Brand Clear Glass Bakeware Set

The price for the three (3) bakeware items below is $60. I won't sell individual pieces, so please don't ask. This price is firm and non-negotiable. Please don't ask for a discount or make an offer. For sale is a small collection of three (3) bakeware items. These can also be used for cookware or serviceware. Complete details of each bakeware item is below. These are all Glasbake brand, which was a series of bakeware started by the McKee Glass Company in 1917. Between 1951 and 1961, the ownership of the Glasbake brand was transferred to the Thatcher Glass Company. In 1961, the Glasbake brand was sold to the Jeannette Glass Company, which went bankrupt in 1983. All Glasbake brand items were manufactured in the USA. The Glasbake brand was originally produced as a competitor to the Pyrex brand cookware produced by the Corning Glass Company. This particular cookware set was most likely produced by the Thatcher Glass Company in the early to late-1950s. The former McKee Glass Company and later Jeannette Glass Company did not produce such yellowish-colored clear glass items. Moreover, none of these have the "J" suffix normally associated with cookware produced by the later Jeannette Glass Company. All three dishes were purchased used by my elderly mother in the 1960s. She remembers that they were about ten years old when she purchased them from the original owner. These cookware items have a very mid-century-modern (MCM) look to them. They are reminiscent of the MCM genre of simple kitchenware that became popular in the 1950s. These particular items are now viewed as collectibles. All three of these items are intended to be used as bakeware in a standard oven. They are all heat-resistant up to 500 degree. They are also resistant to thermal shock, so they can be used for food storage use in a standard refrigerator. All three items are manufactured from standard borosilicate glass. They are all clear glass with no surface pattern, but they do have a yellow-color tinge to them. The set includes three (3) items as follows: – Medium Shallow Rectangular Baking Dish (No Lid) with Model Number 804 – Small Deep Rectangular Baking Dish (With Lid) with Model Number 805 – Small Deep Rectangular Baking Dish (With Lid) with Model Number 805 The model number 804 baking dish in intended to be used as a type of rectangular casserole dish. At the top, it measures 10.25" wide and 7.25" deep. The dish tapers from the top to the bottom. At the bottom, it measures 9.25" wide and 6.25" deep. It measures about 2.75" tall. The volume of the dish is about 12 cups or 3 quarts. This dish never came with a lid and none is included. You'll get one (1) of these in the purchase. Pictures 3 to 8 show this model 804 dish. The model number 805 baking dish in intended to be used as a type of rectangular loaf pan with lid. At the top, it measures 7.75" wide and 5" deep. The dish tapers from the top to the bottom. At the bottom, it measures 6.75" wide and 4" deep. It measures about 3.5" tall. The volume of the dish is about 8 cups or 2 quarts. This dish comes with its original lid, which is the same width and depth of the dish. The lid has a small round handle in the center. With the lid attached, the height of the dish is 3.75". You'll get two (2) of these model 805 baking dishes. Both are identical. Pictures 9 to 17 show the first of this model 805 dish. Pictures 18 to 24 show the second of this model 805 dish. All three dishes and the two lids are in excellent structural, functional, and cosmetic condition. There are no significant scratches, dents, dings, smudges, or warping of any glass surface. There are some very tiny scratches from normal wear. But these are not very noticeable. You can pick up from my house near the San Jose Airport.
