For sale is a complete collection of 222 fine porcelain dishes. The collection includes an 8-piece plating dish set for 24 people. If you need enough matching dishes for 24 people, then this enormous set will work perfectly for you. You'll get 192 of these plating dishes (8x24=192). If you do the math, the $1,200 overall price comes to $50 per person ($1,200/24=$50). As part of the purchase, you'll also get 30 additional serving dishes. Between the plating dishes and the serving dishes, you'll get a total of 222 dishes (192+30=222). The $1,200 price comes to about $5.41 per dish ($1,200/222=$5.41). Every dish is constructed of high-quality porcelain ceramic china, and is manufactured the Fukagawa Porcelain Company of Japan. The Fukagawa Company was established by Eizaemon Fukagawa in the late 1890s. The company is no longer in business. This dishware set is from their 900 series, model number 900P. This particular series was only manufactured in the 1950 and 1960s in their main manufacturing facility located in Arita, Japan. The pattern was discontinued in the mid-1960s. All dishes have an extremely strong white background. The only embellishment is a set of two hand-painted platinum-colored lines around the rim. Some would call these silver-colored lines, but the company marketed these as 'platinum'. One line is thin, and the other is thick. The dishes that have handles also have some additional platinum-colored lines on the handle. Every platinum line on every plate is hand-painted. The look of the dishes is very mid-century-modern (MCM), a general style first made popular in the 1950s and 1960s. These have a very simple, but classic and modern style that will not likely ever become dated.
