Offering a vintage ALL ORIGINAL American Made Lord Elgin "waffle dial" mechanical (hand winding watch) from the mid-50ies. This watch is a classic piece of AMERICANA, 100% of the watch was made in Elgin, Illinois. Yes, every part in this watch including the oil used to lubricate this high end mechanism was made in the same factory in IL! Works great, serviced in March 2023 ($70). Diameter = 30 mm Lord Elgin waffle dials are rare and sell for between $250 and $400, this is offered at a modest CASH ($140) is preferred or Zelle (two days in advance of pickup/deliver, as it takes time for Zelle to clear with my bank) please. The list price of the watch is less than the melt value of the gold in the watch at current gold prices. The bezel, case back are 14 carat gold filled, the band is also gold filled. More info about the watch: The watch houses a strong and CLEAN high grade 680 manual wind movement with sub seconds, running on 21 jewels - a quality high grade American made movement. It is cased in a signed 14K bubble back gold filled case in yellow tone with low dome crystal and good original crown. The dial is factory original, unique and elegant pearl white tone over waffle texture with applied solid gold markers/numerals, it does have a natural patina that comes from age. It has an original set of classic Dauphine hands. Attached to this watch is its original quality SPEIDEL flex bracelet, gold filled over stainless steel, in great condition.
