BADASS Hand-Carved Bear Claw/Paw Mace War Club Cherry Oak
The listing
One of a kind custom-made weapon. Unlike regular war clubs, which are blunt, this one has 4 deadly sharp points. The whole piece is intact – there is no play or any looseness in any part thereof. Never used. It’s in the same condition as the day that I received it from the maker. Always kept on the fireplace mantle. It is very solidly made, and thick, though not overly heavy. Therefore, it makes an effective weapon. The leather-wrapped handle is long, such that the weapon can be wielded with two hands, giving huge impact on strike, making this even more intimidating! Simply awesome. I bought this years ago from the actual maker in Florida. I am downsizing, so I hope to find a good home for this unusual collector’s item. You will not likely find another like it. Nor is the maker still active. I believe the value of this rare and special item will continue to rise. Maker/Artist: Roscoe Barrett Dexterity: Ambidextrous Color: Brown Original/Reproduction: Original Country of Origin: United States Handmade/Handcarved: Yes Handle Material: Cherry Wood, leather-wrapped Below is the description of the item and the work that went into it from the maker himself: "Big Bear Paw This Bear Paw Mace is #1 of a series made by Roscoe, and it is #185 in his collection. This is a hand made item, crafted with the love and attention that any weapons collector would admire. Roscoe has whittled a bear paw pad out of Oak Wood, and then fastened reproduction bear claws to the toes. He drilled out the center of each reproduction bear claw to insert and epoxy a steel post used to anchor the claw to the paw. The claws are made from resin. The tips are sharp and they really give the club a realistic aesthetic. The handle is made from cherry and it is wrapped in leather and adorned with studs. It was then coated in a thick layer of epoxy resin. • Club: 28" long from the top of the pad to the bottom tip • Claws: 1.5" from bottom to tip • Handle: 5.25" around • Paw: 5" wide Please keep in mind, a lot of work goes into this craft. He starts off with a bare branch of a tree. Each stick can take up to 5 days to create. None of them will be assembly line products. They are crafted one at a time by one human."
