1950'sMid Century Modern M.G. Wheeler Sightlight Adjustable Floor Lamp

The listing

What an inspired mid-century modernistic and futuristic piece of functional design! This approximately 70+ year old floor lamp is in exceptional and fully functional condition, with minimal signs of wear and age. Note there are the slightest dents on the shade (see red arrows in pics - the dents are difficult to see). There are some very small marks here and there on the shade and bulb surround, and some scratches on the base along with one tiny, persistent spot of white paint. The brass components are very shiny on the whole, but have some signs of age. I made every effort to show them in the pics - they are more or less visible depending on the ambient lighting, sometimes barely visible at all. This lamp features: ~beige painted aluminum bulb surround and 3-tiered saucer-shaped shade (12.5" diameter) ~polished solid brass slide rod, arm & socket cup ~beige painted steel base (9.75" diameter) ~original felt lined sliding height adjustment mechanism, still smoothly functional (min height 19"/max height 49") ~working cord and socket
