MONETTE PRE-CHICAGO C TRUMPET—LEGACY BATCH(1983)—WARM—SUPERB—GORGEOUS!

The listing

Here is a truly rare first-batch raw brushed brass/nickel Monette Pre-Chicago C Trumpet, being offered by a well-known musician from a legacy collection of the finest brass instruments ever made. Serial is <#100 and the horn is in pristine condition for being from 1983. The tone, intonation and playability are beyond compare. This is an EXCEPTIONAL horn—for both classical AND jazz. Not like any other Pre-Chicago we've heard, this one has a very warm, weighty and solid tone, yet can soar and capture a myriad of tonal colors for your application. A very unique instrument and well-worth the asking. The seller used this beauty as a jazz horn as well as for classical because the tone was so versatile and malleable. For a C trumpet, this has a beautiful dark tone when used with a wide open mouthpiece. Whichever way you plan to use it, the slotting is amazing—precise and easy-to-slide notes from the bottom to the top and beyond. Like a truly magnificent vintage Martin guitar that has matured wood and developed heavenly tone over the years, this Monette seems to have somehow beautifully aged the brass and deepened the resonance and richness of its tone. We just described it to someone as precise, versatile and fat. This one definitely competes with modern-day Monettes, in our opinion. This horn was thought to truly be not like any other Pre-Chicago Monette has ever produced and you'd be hard-pressed to find one that sounds as seasoned and rich as this one, regardless of how far Monette standards and fabrication have progressed over the last forty years. This is a true unicorn. Again, the finish is gorgeous and it comes with custom balanced opal finger buttons as well as the original golden brass. To wrap it up nicely, this work-of-art is protected in a beautiful new condition black Outlaw Loredo Leather case with accessories pouch and inner mouthpiece storage. No mouthpieces are included but we're confident any mouthpiece you decide to use will complement this incredible instrument. Depending on when you see this listing, we may also have some fine and rare C and Bb trumpet MPs available for separate purchase. Both Bb/C key MPs have worked beautifully on this instrument. The MPs shown in the photos are great suggestions featuring other MPs available from the seller at the time of posting. $7,500 Zelle, Cash or Wire preferred. On sale from $9,995. We have a credit card server that we can make available if you cover the processing fees. Definitely no trades and we will only respond to serious inquiries. A portion of the proceeds from this sale will go to arts education charities. We're willing to ship as long as the buyer covers for shipping and insurance. We use FedEx and ship instruments all over the world.
