Twisted Electrons Mega FM II hardware synth
The listing
Hard to get your hands on one of these, always out of stock, few used postings. Very cool FM synthesizer with a nice one knob per function style interface on a compact all metal enclosure. Has dual 1/4-in outputs, and runs on two separate combined FM engines, same ones that were in the old Sega video game consoles. In absolutely superb condition, looks brand new, zero issues. Capable of quite a lot of awesome sounds, fun to play with, great to learn fm on, and have some very interesting dual output capability including running each engine to a separate output. I'm only selling it because I bought a DX7, and it's just not seeing much use these days. "The MEGAfm II from Twisted Electrons is a twelve voice polyphonic FM synth based on vintage YM3438 chips and an onboard analog distortion circuit. Designed to be hands-on and easily editable, you get thirty-two faders, fourteen knobs, and fifteen buttons, meaning you won't have to menu dive endlessly or use divination to figure out how to adjust an envelope. Based around eight versatile algorithms, you can coax classic FM sounds from tubular vibes to membranous drums, breathy flutes to plucked strings, and everywhere in between. Select the right amount of stereo spread you'd like with the various voicing modes, allowing you to have thick Unison operation, Wide 6, 4, or 3 voice control with polyphonic detune options, the default Poly 12, and a unique Dual CH3 mode that allows the four-operator voice for channel 3 to be individually detuned to arbitrary frequencies—perfect for percussive sounds. A full-featured synth, the MEGAfm II provides comprehensive sound and performance controls like glide, vibrato, an arpeggiator, and sequencer along with three simultaneously available LFOs. Grab this helpful, tweakable box and delight in the worlds of 8-bit sound brought to life by your expert phalanges." Reasonable offers considered, trade offers considered as well.
