Mont Blanc Meisterstück Ball Point Pen - Vintage 1980s.
The listing
In the photo section below you will find some 'comparables’ for the item in this ad. As this item was bought 40 years ago [ but is still in perfect condition], the prices I paid for it would certainly be much, much higher today. The last two photos each show a price of $ 520 for the identical pen being bought today from authorized dealers. Due to that, I do feel the asking price is very appropriate. This was bought sometime in the 1980s at Famous Barr, a St. Louis based division of the May Co. Department Store, which subsequently became part of Macy's. I do not remember it's purchase price. Given the inflation of everything, my ASKING PRICE here is $ 200, which itself is 60% less than the current dealer price in the last two photos. It may be 40 years old but it looks, and operates, like it is brand new. The Meisterstück line of writing instruments was first introduced by Mont Blanc as a fountain pen in 1924 and has always stood for excellence. In the 1970s the ballpoint version was released to be in line with changing trends of how one wrote. But how does one show a pen ? Laying it down will do but is not special. How does one make a pen stand up ? By thinking “outside the box” the saying goes. ACCESSORIES shown in ad - stationary, chain, napkin rings are NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE.. I found some beautiful brass chain links which I coiled into a device to hold the pen erect and then I used some Virginia Metalcrafters high-quality napking ring holders to provide a second view. I do have another CL LISTING for the VIRGINIA METALCRAFTERS NAPKIN RINGS used in one photo to hold up the pen. Use the feature "more ads by this seller" link in this ad to see the rings ad. The pen is in excellent condition. Refills are easily available from the Mont Blanc website or from any fine writing instruments store. For the latter I use Fahrney’s in Washington D.C. which has a large mail order/shipping refill service > fahrneyspens.com <. PLEASE LOOK AT MY OTHER ITEMS FOR SALE by clicking on the link “more ads by this seller” in a blue font type under the map image on this page and to the right of the photos in the ad. The seller lives near the intersection of Clayton and Clarkson Roads in western St. Louis County and is very flexible on when and where we can meet. Cash only, COD, please. Thank you for your interest in this posting. $ 200
