Vintage 1978 Premier Super Olympic 22/13/14/16 drum kit

Vintage 1978 Premier Super Olympic 22/13/14/16 drum kit with birch shells - refinished in dark ebony with a hand-rubbed finish. Only made for a single year in 1978, the Super Olympic was part of Premier’s budget “Olympic” brand, but was their high-end model, eventually becoming the Premier Soundwave - the top-of-the-line series at that time. The Super Olympic included the same birch shells and hardware, just under a different badge and with matte black hardware accents. Traditionally offered in basic, solid color wraps, this has been refinished to highlight the sound quality and vintage, yet solid vibe these kits possess. Bearing edges have been trued and given an outer roundover profile (see pics), bringing an extra warmth to the standard factory edges and allowing modern heads to settle easily and spin freely on the shell. The result is a greater tuning range and stable, warm tone, all while retaining the classic Premier character. Overall condition on this nearly 50 year old kit is good, but does have some imperfections to note: * Misc. chrome pitting, mostly on the snare shell or in spots on the hoops, but exist here and there in other areas * Small imperfections (cloudiness, light scratches, shell defects) may show in the finish in certain lighting - though light texture and changes in wood grain visibility are expected based on the hand-rubbed ebony finish * Factory shell seams have been blended as much as possible, but are still visible up close (most obvious on the kick) - see pics * A couple kick t-rods are slightly bent but work just fine, maybe 3-5 lugs on the whole kit need a drum key for final tension, but not always Though not perfect, this is a very unique and beautiful kit with a ton of character and sounds incredible.
