Organic Cotton and Wool Mattresses. Size: 39" x 76" x 3" (Twin / Single) New. Got these for my young son but ended up never using them. They have been stored in sealed bags with cedar since we got them. Jantz Design and The Natural Bedroom stems from Eliana Jantz, a pioneer in the organic mattress and natural bedding industry. In 1994, she co-founded The Natural Bedroom in Sebastopol, California, specializing in chemical-free, pure wool-filled bedding and organic mattresses. She later moved on to launch Shepherd's Dream, continuing her legacy of introducing sustainable, toxic-free sleep environments to North America. These mattresses are closer to 3" . Two of the Mattresses are filled with 80% Organic Cotton and Wool ( 208 ounces of wool batting = 13 lbs). One of the Mattresses is filled with 100% Wool. I have not weighed this mattress but it presumably has at least 13 lbs of Wool and likely more. The Wool is "Eco Wool" from Woolgatherer Carding Mill. Woolgatherer Carding Mill maintains strict oversight regarding animal husbandry on its Pacific Northwest family ranches. They have a formal stance against cruel or harmful farm practices and explicitly guarantee that none of their regional growers practice mulesing. Because mulesing is a procedure primarily used on Merino sheep in Australia to combat flystrike, the domestic US sheep breeds used in their specialized mattresses are entirely free from this practice.
