1972 Mercedes 250

Up for sale is my 72 Mercedes 250. It has the 280 six cylinder gas engine. Ps, pb, auto 4 speed transmission, manual windows and locks, ac (not charged)modern Bluetooth radio in very nice driver condition. Most of the paint is original however it does look better in the photos than in person. This is now a rust free car. I have owned it for about two years. When I bought it had been sitting since 1996 so I did all that it needed to bring it back on the road. It had only minor rust in the trunk spare tire well and below and behind the rear wheels. I repaired both areas with fresh metal welded in, primed and painted. This is a list of what was done to bring it back: Removed and cleaned fuel tank and lines Replaced fuel pump Rebuilt both carbs and new air filter New plugs, wires and cap Replaced points with pertronx ignition Rebuilt Altinator Replaced all 3 belts Flushed and refilled cooling system Adjusted valves and replaced valve cover gasket Changed oil, filter and oil pan gasket Replaced all four brake calipers and new rubber brake lines and flushed and refilled fluid Replaced driveshaft center bearing Got all lights, horn, turn signals, wipers and gauges to work as they should. (Only the odometer and clock do not work) so mileage is unknown Replaced all 4 tires with new ones Replaced rear end gear oil Replace the aftermarket cassette radio with a modern Bluetooth radio Latest Pa inspection The rust in the trunk (now repaired) was caused by a bad trunk seal. I have included a new replacement seal but I did not install because if the new owner wants to do a respray it would be best to install after that. These are becoming harder to find in rust free condition especially pre 1973 with the beautiful European  bumpers and steering wheel. There were other odds and ends I did that just don’t come to mind now. This was basically a one owner car that was bought in Germany. The original owner had it shipped here. I have much of the paper work and the original owners manual. It passed through a couple of hands and I bought it from a car broker, but no one did anything with it till I did.
